Wyatt Palmer is a high school senior this year. He is the son of Erin and Nelson Palmer.
Palmer has been in cross country for the past four years and qualified for state his sophomore year. He has also been involved in FFA for the past four years of high school.
One thing Palmer said that he will miss about high school is seeing his friends every day.
Palmer works part time as a welder for Devonport Mobile Welding in Scopus. After graduation, he plans to attend trade school to become a millwright, and then he will join a union. Palmer said he wants to have his own place in the next 10 years and establish himself.
One of Palmer's closest friends, Hunter Gromer, had a lot to say about their friendship. They have had many good times together in school and out of school. Gromer described Palmer as "a cool friend and pretty funny."
Gromer said Palmer is always there when anyone needs him, but he talks a little too much.
His biggest supporters would definitely be his family, Palmer said, more specifically his Uncle Josh, grandma and grandpa, aunts and uncles, and lastly, his mom and dad.
Palmer has a lot of favorites. His favorite TV show is "Young Sheldon." Some of his favorite activities are sports, playing games and watching and playing baseball.
Matthew Yamnitz is a 2024 senior at Meadow Heights High School. During his time in high school, Yamnitz has participated in FFA. His favorite thing about FFA is when the club hosts Tractor Day during FFA Week, when people drive their tractors to school.
"It's the best part of the year," he said.
After graduation, Yamnitz plans to go straight into the workforce running heavy equipment. In addition, he would like to run his own farm.
One thing he would like to do after graduation is participate in a dirt bike race out of the state. Racing dirt bikes is something he enjoys doing in his free time.
Outside of school, Yamnitz enjoys hanging out with friends, riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes, and working on vehicles in the shop. His friends describe him as funny, caring, a tractor lover and "a kid with a nice 7.3."
One of his friends, Garrett Barks, said he has spent a lot of time with Yamnitz. Barks' favorite memory with him is when Yamnitz's new exhaust fell off his truck while he was going down the road, and they had to drag it all the way to the shop.
Wyatt Hamlin, another one of Yamnitz's friends, said his favorite memory of Yamnitz is when he tried to cross a creek in his four-wheeler and it rolled down the creek.
As graduation steadily approaches, Yamnitz said he is ready.
