MEADOW HEIGHTS HIGH SCHOOL VISITED BY RON COLE

Meadow Heights High School (MHHS)in Patton was recently host to Ron Cole, singer and performer. On Friday, Sept. 15 Ron Cole visited and entertained students at Meadow Heights, grades fifth through 12.

Cole even got some students from the audience to sing along with him. Later that night he performed at a dance in the high school cafeteria for grades 7-12.

Cole is a singer of all types of music and has recorded in Nashville. He had an important message to send to the students of MHHS. He talked about drugs, and how harmful they can be.

Cole talked about being a wrestler in high school and how he never got involved in drugs or any other use of tobacco or alcohol products.

"I was able to set and reach my goals because of that," Cole said as the students listened attentively.

The concert and assembly was sponsored by the Community 2000 group at Meadow Heights. The group wrote a grant and was able to obtain money to get Cole at the school.

Community 2000 is made up of a mixture of MHHS students parents and teachers. Some of the students in Community 2000 attended a Leadership Training the summer and enjoyed Cole's company.

Cole has traveled to various schools delivering his message.

There were 130 students that attended the dance with 20 adults in attendance. The entry fee for students was to bring a snack food item.
