Stacy Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Walker of McClure, Ill., recently won a sixth annual $500 scholarship given by the Carroll P. Foster Post 3455, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Anna, Ill. She is a graduate of Shawnee High School in Wolf Lake, Ill.
Walker was also the winner of the ninth annual $200 Southern Illinoisan Tipoff Classic Scholarship, and was chosen to receive the Shawnee Education Association Scholarship. In addition, she was selected as the Rotary Club Student of the Quarter for the third quarter of her senior year.
She has participated in various organizations during high school, including band, Beta Club, SADD, FHA, Daughters of the American Revolution, Pep Club, Student Council, Yearbook staff and senior play. Also, she worked as a lifeguard at Cape Girardeau Municipal Pool in the Kiwanis "Learn to Swim" program.
Walker has been accepted into the Athletic Training Program at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale for the fall semester.
