A Washington state woman was arrested in Stoddard County last weekend for possession of marijuana lemonade.
Holly Liana Coriell, 38, of Seattle was arrested May 18 and charged with possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana and unlawful possession of an illegal weapon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol was conducting a spot check at Route T and Route K, according to a probable-cause statement filed by trooper Justin Brooks.
At 1:22 p.m., he approached Joseph Woods, who was driving a white 2008 Chevrolet Uplander van.
As Woods searched for proof of insurance, Brooks observed a "strong odor of burnt marijuana" coming from the vehicle. Brooks asked Woods to pull onto County Road 499.
When asked whether he had been smoking marijuana in the vehicle, Woods admitted he and his passenger, later identified as Coriell, had been.
A consent search uncovered several small containers of marijuana, four bottles of strawberry lemonade cannabis and several smoking devices. A further search of Coriell's purse revealed a pair of brass knuckles.
The drinking marijuana is believed to have come from Washington, where marijuana is legal for use.
Coriell was incarcerated at the Stoddard County Jail. She was given a $7,500 bond with 10 percent cash or surety allowed.
