MANY OFFICES TO BE CLOSED FOR PRESIDENTS DAY

All federal, state, county, and most municipal offices; financial institutions and area schools will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents Day.

All offices in the Cape Girardeau Federal Building will be closed as will all state and county offices in Cape Girardeau and Jackson.

City offices in Cape Girardeau, Scott City and Chaffee will be closed, but city offices in Jackson will remain open.

All area schools, including Cape Girardeau, Scott City, Chaffee and Jackson, will be closed for Presidents Day.

The Cape Girardeau driver's license fee office will be closed Saturday and Monday. License fee offices in Jackson and Chaffee will be closed on Monday only.

There will be no driving or commercial driver's license exams given Monday at the Jackson National Guard Armory, said driving examiner Robert Hente. Normal testing will resume in Jackson on Feb. 24.

There will be no solid-waste pickup in Cape Girardeau on Monday. The Monday pickup will be on Tuesday. There will be no Wednesday special pickup next week.

Solid waste will be picked up in Jackson, Scott City and Chaffee on Monday.

The Cape Girardeau Public Library will be open Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., but will close Monday.
