On Tuesday, Judge Fred Copeland set Jeramie Oakley's jury trial for May 13 in New Madrid, Mo.
Oakley, 29, of West Frankfort, Ill., is charged with nine felonies as a result of a police chase from Jackson to Highway 3 in Illinois after allegedly breaking into his ex-wife's residence and threatening her and another man with a screwdriver Sept. 3.
Oakley then escaped police custody at Saint Francis Medical Center three days later. He's been charged with felony burglary, assault, armed criminal action, resisting arrest, domestic assault and fleeing.
