Police responded to 312 W. Lorimier Place around 3:15 a.m. for a man shot, said police spokesman Jason Selzer.

The vicitm, a 24-year-old Cape Girardeau resident, was shot in the left upper arm and taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

Police had a suspect in mind, but no one was in custody and no motive had been established as of 2 p.m., Selzer said.
