SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A Mountain Grove, Mo., man who mailed a pipe bomb to West Plains police was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison without parole.

Schamber said he sent the package in a plot to incriminate his ex-wife's current husband in order to restore his relationship with her. He also left part of the items used to make the bomb in his ex-wife's yard.

A postal carrier found the pipe bomb in a mail collection box in West Plains in June. The device was designed to explode when the box was opened.

Schamber was identified from photos of him buying the bomb materials at Wal-Mart.
