A man was shot early Wednesday afternoon in south Cape Girardeau.
Police and emergency personnel responded to a house in the 500 block of South Sprigg Street about 1:30 Wednesday.
Cape Girardeau Police Sgt. Adam Glueck said the victim, a 19-year-old Cape Girardeau man, was found inside the house.
He had been shot once through his upper leg, Glueck wrote in an email. The victim's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
He was transported to a hospital by Cape County Private Ambulance for treatment.
Glueck said the victim told police he was in the 500 block of South Ellis Street when he heard gunshots and was struck in the leg.
The victim said he went to a friend's house on Sprigg, which is where police found him, Glueck said. The victim told police he was unable to provide any information on possible suspects and only heard the shots.
No suspects are in custody at this time.
