MAN INJURED WHEN DUMP TRUCKS COLLIDE

JACKSON -- A Perryville man received moderate injuries when two dump trucks collided Monday afternoon on Highway 72 about five miles west of Jackson.

A spokesman for the Missouri Highway Patrol said that a westbound dump truck driven by Kenneth R. Cole, 55, of Perryville, crossed the center line of Highway 72, striking a dump truck driven by Timothy S. Welker, 23, of Jackson.

After the initial impact, Cole's truck swerved off the road and turned over on its side, the patrol said.

Cole was taken to St. Francis Medical Center where he was treated for moderate injuries and released.
