EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Christopher Vincent Gephart, 35, is facing charges in connection with a high-speed chase in April as well as being found in possession of drugs when he was arrested recently.
Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore said deputy Marc Tragesser was on patrol in mid-April when he saw a vehicle driven by Gephart traveling in the wrong lane on State Highway 105.
"Deputy Tragesser initiated a traffic stop and the driver pulled over; but as the Deputy approached, the car took off, nearly striking the deputy as it pulled back onto the roadway," Moore said in a news release. "Gephart then led law enforcement on a cross-county pursuit that ended with him fleeing on foot after his vehicle got stuck in a field."
A warrant was issued in connection with the incident.
