SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A southwest Missouri man was sentenced Thursday to more than three years in federal prison for illegally possessing a pipe bomb.

Kelly Lynn Hensley, 38, of Cabool, pleaded guilty in May to possession of a destructive device not registered to him. Hensley was sentenced Thursday morning to three years and four months in prison without parole.

Hensley allegedly made two devices found in March outside a Mountain Grove home. One of the devices apparently broke when it hit the ground. No one was hurt.
