MAN DIES IN CRASH ON HIGHWAY 25

A man was killed Thursday morning when his truck was struck from behind in New Madrid County.

Daniel Lee, 80, of Malden was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:33 a.m. by the New Madrid County coroner after his 1991 Mazda pickup was hit after he stopped in traffic, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Lee's truck was hit by a 1983 Isuzu truck driven by Jason Hilliard, 26, of Jonesboro, Ark. Hilliard was treated for minor injuries at Twin Rivers Hospital in Kennett and released. Both vehicles were traveling north on Missouri Highway 25 a quarter-mile east of Malden when the accident occurred.

Lee's body was taken to the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
