Lester T. Sladek Jr., 48, of Jackson faces charges of sexual misconduct after allegedly exposing himself to two adolescent girls.
The case against Sladek was filed July 18.
According to a probable-cause statement by Cape Girardeau County detective Jamie Malugen, the two girls reported a man exposing himself to them as they were walking down County Road 328 in Jackson.
During an interview with authorities, the girls said the man ask them if they'd been enjoying their summer, the statement said.
After the man exposed himself to the girls, they ran down the street and told someone they knew, the statement said.
One of the detectives who interviewed the children recognized their description of the man as Sladek, who they knew.
Sladek went to the sheriff's department and admitted to the incident, saying he had not been getting enough attention and it was a fantasy of his that he had decided to act out, the statement said.
Sladek is charged with two counts of sexual misconduct involving a child younger than 14 Bond was set at $10,000.
