The Sedgewickville, Mo., man charged with the involuntary manslaughter of a Chaffee, Mo., minister's wife Feb. 13 pleaded not guilty Monday to the felony charge against him. His case was continued to June 14 when he is expected to ask for a change of venue, said Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney Morley Swingle.
Michael Berry was charged March 5 with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the Feb. 13 auto accident on Highway 25 two miles south of Gordonville. Berry reportedly attempted to pass an 18-wheel tractor-trailer and slammed head-on into a car occupied by the Rev. Darren Larkin, 39, and his 36-year-old wife, Rebecca. Rebecca Larkin died as a result of the crash; her husband was critically injured.
