Pearson, who told police he lives at the Revival Center at 914 Old Cape Road in Jackson, was arrested after an incident that occurred after the bar closed Sunday morning, according to police reports. Police said Pearson had arrived at the bar early Saturday night and began drinking, remaining after the bar closed and all other customers were gone. At that point Pearson allegedly went behind the bar and opened the cash register. When an employee tried to stop him, Pearson allegedly pushed the employee onto the floor and into a soda machine where she sustained head injuries.

Reports say Pearson then took the cash from the register and tried to flee the building, and another physical struggle ensued at the door. Pearson then kicked the employee and fled, police said. He was found about 45 minutes later at 1:01 a.m., running near a creek, and was apprehended without struggle. The amount of money Pearson took was undetermined, police said.
