POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- A Poplar Bluff man is in serious condition after being allegedly stabbed several times by his girlfriend's 17-year-old son as she held him down.

Butler County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Desean R. Bell and April L. Noyes, 37, both of the 600 block of Hart Street in Neelyville, Missouri, on suspicion of first-degree assault at 1:15 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of Lyla Lane.

The status of the victim, Bradley N. Santos, 33, is uncertain, as police report he lost "a tremendous" amount of blood during the incident. He is being treated at a hospital.

According to incident reports, deputies at the scene found the victim with visible injuries to the head, neck, back and side and covered in blood. Deputies report Santos told them who the attackers were and how the assault took place -- "Desean stabbed me and April held me down," were his words, according to the report -- before he lost consciousness.

After the victim was transported from the scene by ambulance, authorities observed Noyes kneeling on the ground with her arms extended. As they approached, she allegedly said "I stabbed that (explicative), come arrest me."

Authorities found a knife believed to be the weapon used in the attack and observed blood on the floor, walls and furniture of the residence.

While taking Noyes to the Butler County Justice Center, Bell was spotted driving on County Road 470 and arrested.

During interviews, Bell allegedly denied stabbing Santos, telling deputies if Noyes stabbed Santos, it was in self-defense.

Noyes and Bell are in custody at the Butler County jail. Bond was not set as of press time.
