Police say a Campbell, Missouri, man brandished a knife and told his girlfriend, “Run like you’ve never run before” at 3 a.m. Wednesday in the 1900 block of North Kingshighway.

Aaron Wayne Brannon, 30, faces charges of unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor domestic assault. His bond was set at $7,500 cash only.

Brannon and the victim began yelling at each other when they were playing cards with another woman, according to a probable-cause statement filed by patrolman James Goins of the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

When the victim returned the use of a particular slur, Brannon grabbed her by the throat and pushed her into a door, Goins wrote.

The other woman said she was going to call the cops, the victim told her to run, and Brannon became enraged, according to the statement.

He grabbed the victim by the throat a second time and pushed her into a dishwasher, Goins wrote.

The two women ran out of the back door of the house, and Brannon then demanded the victim give him a ride to his brother’s house, according to the statement.
