A Cape Girardeau man was arrested Saturday after allegedly lighting a marijuana cigarette in a downtown business.

Officers responded to a disturbance at 26 N. Main St. around 7:30 p.m., police said. Employees told the officers that the man refused to leave after being asked and that he threatened another patron. Officers found the man, later identified as John F. Konopka III, 30, walking away from the business.

Konopka was charged with possession of marijuana, assault and trespassing. He has since posted a $2,000 cash bond. A court date has been scheduled for 9 a.m. March 27.
