TROY, Mo. (AP) -- An Oklahoma man is facing felony assault charges for allegedly attacking two eastern Missouri deputies and a hospital worker.
The incident happened January 5th in Lincoln County and was made public Thursday.
Authorities say a deputy pulled over a vehicle on Missouri 79 near Foley for an equipment violation. While speaking to the driver, 64-year-old John Wiltsch of Dellwood, the deputy allegedly found marijuana.
Authorities say a passenger, 39-year-old Jeffrey Peer of Edmond, Okla., appeared intoxicated and became violent so police transported him to a hospital. There, he allegedly assaulted two deputies and a nurse. They were not seriously hurt.
Wiltsch is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
