MALDEN MAN DIES IN ACCIDENT

FISK -- A 21-year old Malden man was killed Friday morning when the car he was driving crossed the center line and struck a pickup truck on Highway 60, a half mile west of Fisk in Butler County.

Pronounced dead at the scene was Melvin Shelton. A passenger in his car, Theola Townsend, 32 of Malden, received moderate injuries and was taken to St. Francis Medical Center.

Injured in the other vehicle were Jason Johnson, 19, of Dexter, who was the driver, and 68-year old J.W. Johnson, also of Dexter.

Both were taken to Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff with serious injuries.
