MALDEN -- A Malden man was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon.
Val Manning, 17, died at St. Francis Medical Center, where he was airlifted after the accident, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred when a 1991 Plymouth driven northbound on Route AB a mile south of Malden ran off the road, overcorrected, crossed the center line and was struck by a southbound 1990 GMC pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup truck, Kenneth Broderick, 27, of Malden suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff.
A passenger in the Plymouth, Julio Manning, 19, also suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Lucy Lee Hospital. Julio Manning was identified by the patrol as Val Malden's brother.
The accident occurred about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.
