KENNETT, Mo. -- City officials have set a date for the annual fireworks display following the event being postponed July 4 due to drought conditions.
The firework display has been rescheduled for Labor Day, Sept. 3.
The event will take place at sundown and will be held at the east end of Kennett, the same place as in previous years.
The firework display will be used to pay tribute to the nation's workforce from the past, present and future, according to the Kennett Chamber of Commerce.
However, according to the Kennett Fire Department, the community members, as well as visitors, will not be allowed to display fireworks. Violators will be fined, officials said.
