MAKANDA, Ill. -- Makanda Fest '94, an art, craft and music festival, will be held here from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 18 and from noon to 7 p.m. June 19.
The festival will include exhibits by local artists and crafts people. Blacksmiths, basket weavers, quilters and others will be on hand demonstrating their crafts and selling their products.
Other highlights include a two-on-two basketball tournament, an apple wine-tasting on the Makanda Boardwalk, a poetry reading and Carbondale Science Center demonstrations.
Bring your own chairs to sit on the lawn and enjoy the continuous music both days. Big-band, country, alternative, jazz and a variety of other music is scheduled.
