Residents are invited to comment on updates to Cape Gir-ardeau's Major Street Plan and Future Land Use Plan tonight during a monthly Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.
A public hearing will take place at 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 401 Independence.
The Major Street Plan outlines the city's street system according to functional use, and the Future Land Use Plan indicates various zoning areas in the city, such as residential, commercial, industrial, parks, public, agricultural or vacant.
Both plans are used for a variety of development projects, including subdivision regulations, transportation funding, zoning changes, long-term planning and construction of city facilities.
The last update to both plans was in 1999 when officials determined the location of new Route 74.
For more information, call the city planner's office at 334-8326.
