At 11:47 p.m. Wednesday, an area hospital reported to Cape Girardeau police Ryan C. Grandi, 30, of Cape Girardeau had been transported to its facility, according to the release.

The cause and manner of death still are being investigated, the release stated.
Police declined to give out any other details about the homicide.
