Candidates for the Cape Girardeau Board of Education have been invited to participate in a public forum to be held at 7 p.m. March 29 in the Central Junior High School cafeteria.
The forum will be sponsored and conducted by the League of Women Voters of Cape Girardeau County. Sandy Bonner, the league's voters service director, will moderate the forum, which will be conducted under established LWV procedures.
The format will consist of allowing each candidate an opening statement, answers to questions from the audience, and a closing statement. As is customary, strict time limits will be observed to assure fairness. The public is urged to attend.
Candidates scheduled to appear are: Patrick Ruopp, Stephen Naeter, Robert G. Fox, Addie M. Walker, Bill Hopkins, and Jack L. Sterrett. The elections will be held April 5.
