Local Lutheran schools are celebrating national Lutheran Schools week this week with activities each day.
Today, Trinity Lutheran School in Cape Girardeau and St. Paul Lutheran School from Jackson will hold a joint chapel service at the Jackson church.
On Tuesday, at Trinity Lutheran School, mothers are invited to lunch. On Wednesday, it is fathers day for lunch, and grandparents are invited to lunch on Thursday.
On Tuesday The Rev. Adam Mueller will speak about missionary work in the South Pacific.
On Wednesday Carol Roth will speak about missionary work in Africa, and on Thursday, Mueller will speak about missionary work in Russia and Germany. Speakers begin at 1:45 p.m. each day and visitors are welcome.
Trinity Lutheran School is celebrating its 141st year in Cape Girardeau.
Principal Robert Hartmann said, "Schools such as Trinity Lutheran School give parents the opportunity to exercise their right to religious freedom."
He said the school strives for excellence. Trinity school is accredited by the National Lutheran School Accreditation Agency and the National Federation of Nonpublic School State Accrediting Associations.
