CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Luth~eran Schools across the country will celebrate National Lutheran Schools Week this week.
Trinity Lutheran School in Cape Girardeau and St. Paul Lutheran School in Jackson have both planned activities for the week.
The theme for the week is "Sharing the Caring Christ through Nurture and Education."
Events planned at Trinity School: Monday, students and teachers will wear school colors, blue and white; Tuesday, members of the congregation, parents and the public are invited to attend classrooms. Teacher Appreciation Dinner on tap; Wednesday, joint chapel service in Jackson with St. Paul Lutheran; Thursday, students will write thank you letters to members of the congregation; Friday, student projects will be on display in the school from 7:30-9 p.m.
Activities planned at St. Paul Lutheran School: Monday, special chapel service for students, 8:25 a.m. in the church; Tuesday, Imaginary Theater Company from St. Louis will present "Alice in Wonderland" at the school; Wednesday, joint chapel service with Trinity Lutheran; Thursday, teacher's appreciation tea from 9-9:30 a.m.; Friday, students will write letters to students at Lutheran schools around the country.
