A new physical therapy department has opened at the Lutheran Home, 2825 Bloomfield Road.
"The new department will provide outpatient therapy for rehabilitation of geriatric patients," said Janice Unger, home administrator.
Unger and William Winkler, president of its board of directors, announced the new facility recently.
The Lutheran Home Auxiliary provided funds for renovation and equipment for the new department.
"We have a 1,200 square foot area for the new department,"said Unger. "Equipment includes therapy and exercise machines, including the new Cybex Kinetron resistive exercise machine and others."
The Lutheran Home, situated on a 38-acre tract, is one of the largest nursing homes in Southeast Missouri, with more than 260 beds.
