LOWE'S WINS '94 RETAILER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Lowe's Cos. Inc. has received the 1994 Retailer of the Year award from Building Supply Home Centers magazine in recognition of superior achievements and contributions in management, marketing and merchandising.

Lowe's is the first and only three-time winner of the magazine's award, having previously received the honor in 1983 and 1977. The publication's criteria for selection include exemplary performance in market responsiveness, consistency of growth, development of consumer service programs, community leadership, employee relations programs and creative store design.

Lowe's Inc., a home supply store, is one of America's top 30 retailers. It has 320 stores in 21 states, including one in Cape Girardeau.
