BOW, N.H. -- An emu that ran wild through New Hampshire for more than a week has been reunited with its owner and returned home to Vermont. Kermit Blackwood of Vermont figured it was a long shot the loose emu was his bird, Beatrice. Blackwood traveled about 80 miles Sunday to the not-for-profit Wings of the Dawn when he knew for sure. The emu moved closer to Blackwood and rolled its neck toward him, possibly recognizing him by a silver jacket he wore...
