Three new faculty members were on the job to greet returning students at Immaculate Conception School last week.
Karen Engelen has joined the school as a fourth grade teacher, while Kathryn Mazzanti is teaching seventh grade and Gina Herzog sixth grade.
Engelen, a Jackson native, is an Immaculate Conception alumnae herself. She has taught previously at St. Vincent's in Perryville.
"I love being here," she said. "It's nice to be back where I went to school."
Mazzanti, who has lived in Arkansas and Mississippi, said she "loves" the school and community.
Herzog, a Ste. Genevieve native who lives in Cape Girardeau, is new to sixth grade teaching. Her previous experience has been in preschool work.
"It's a very family-oriented school," she said. "It should be very nice working here."
