Aaron King of Jackson and Ronnie Meisenheimer of Scott City recently competed in ESPN's NBL Grand National BMX Races in Lousiville, Ky.
King placed first in the 16-year-old novice class and Meisenheimer placed fifth in the 21-to-24-year-old novice class.
Over 2,500 racers from across the United States and three foreign countries competed in the two-day Labor Day weekend race.
Other area bicycle riders competing in the championship race were Chris Stults, Josh Revelle, Elliott Evans, Clay Sloan, David Keele, and Nick and Zack Young. They are all members of the SEMO BMX Club at the new Scott City BMX Park.
