A local observance of World Food Day will be held Oct. 15 at the Southeast Missouri State University Center.
A supper of bean soup will be held at 6 p.m. Participants are invited to bring bread of their choice.
A program including a presentation by Ron Hals, professor emeritus of Trinity Seminary in Columbus, Ohio, will follow the meal. A video tape explaining the causes of world hunger will be shown.
The event is also a recruitment rally for the Cape Girardeau area CROP Walk for the Hungry, which is scheduled Nov. 17.
