Local churches continue their efforts to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina. Here's a list of some on-going activities and how you can participate:

The church: Fruitland Community Church

How to help: The church is collecting non-perishable items for the Louisiana Food Basket project sponsored by Southern Baptist Disaster Relief. A team from the church will leave Sept. 25 to assist a fedding unit in the New Orleans area.

How to help: The church is accepting money for the CBF Global Missions hurricane fund.

The church: Centenary United Methodist Church

How to help: The United Methodist Committee on Relief is collecting health kits and cleanup buckets through Sept. 24. Items such as washcloths, scrub brushes, bandaids, household cleaners, soap and tooth brushes are needed.

The church: Cape Christian Church

How to help: The church is collecting money through Sept. 18 for the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
