Ballet students from the Academy of Dancearts have been selected by national audition to attend ballet programs sponsored by individual ballet companies.
Tania Morris has been selected to attend State Ballet of Missouri on a full scholarship. She was also selected to attend Boston Ballet, Joffery Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet. She will be attending State Ballet of Missouri and Pacific Northwest Ballet, Seattle, Wash.
Bethany Caplin has been selected to attend State Ballet of Missouri, Boston Ballet and Virginia School of the Arts. She will be attending State Ballet of Missouri and Virginia School of the Arts, Lynchburg, Va.
Sarah Semmler has been selected to attend State Ballet of Missouri and Boston Ballet. She will attend State Ballet of Missouri. Semmler was an Academy of Dancearts scholarship student.
Katie Cozby has been selected to attend State Ballet of Missouri. She was also an Academy of Dancearts scholarship student.
Bridgette Birk is the 1993 Academy of Dancearts scholarship student. She will be attending State Ballet of Missouri.
Abigail Fletcher and Christina Veniziano will also attend State Ballet of Missouri.
The State Ballet of Missouri Ballet Company summer program is sponsored by Dance St. Louis. Classes are taught by director Todd Bolender and artistic director Una Kai.
At the Academy of Dancearts the students are trained in Ballet by Michelle Morris. Morris has taught at the Academy of Dancearts for seven years. She has 22 years of teaching experience and holds a BFA in dance from Stephens College.
Her teaching experience includes teaching in the dance department at the University of Missouri. She has recently been named director to the Southeast Missouri Ballet Theatre.
