Fruitland LivestockFRUITLAND -- Fruitland Livestock Auction Tuesday. Receipts, 596; last week, 523; last year, 996. Compared to last week feeder steers and heifers 1.00-3.00 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady; Demand and supply light. The quality of the feeders was still below adverage of past sales. Cows made up approximately 23 percent of the run, feeders 77 percent. Steers made up approximately 52 percent of the offering, 48 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 19 percent.

Feeder steers: Medium and Large 1-2 350-400 lbs 83.25-90.50; 400-500 lbs 80.00-93.50; 500-600 lbs 81.25-87.50; 650-700 lbs 77.50-81.00; 700-750 lbs 74.25-81.25; pkg 825 lbs 79.00. Medium and Large 2 450-500 lbs 72.50-75.25; 500-550 lbs 75.00-79.25; 650-675 lbs 64.75-70.00; 700-800 lbs 65.00-70.00.

Cows and bulls made up approximately 8 percent of the run, 92 percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 55 percent and 45 percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 23 percent.
