SIKESTON, Mo. -- Lightning strikes led to a brief power outage for the city this morning.
The Sikeston Standard Democrat reported that just before 6 a.m., power was out for all Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities customers, said Wayne McSpadden, operations manager.
"It was a problem with our main substation -- the line that feeds the town," he said.
For the most part, power was restored within a half hour. However, as of press time Friday morning, BMU crews were still out resolving a few issues.
