Now in the 10th year of operation, the Lickety Split Water Slide, located on Highway 61, west of Interstate 55 intersection, has made some changes in its accommodations.
"We have added two new sun bathing decks," said owner P.J. "Bud" Leuckel. "And we expanded the concession area and the food line, adding Hawaiian ice snow comes, pizza and hot dogs." A shaded, carpeted area for group gatherings has also been added.
"We draw from all over Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois," he said. Leuckel said the closest other water slide is at Fenton.
Lickety Split is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week through October 1. Admission is $5 for two hours or $8 for all day.
Michelle Eifert manages the operation. Leuckel bought it 5 years ago from Gene Rhodes of Cape Girardeau, who started it.
