Award-winning author Robert Vaughn will help the Cape Girardeau Public Library celebrate National Library Week next week with a program at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Vaughan's books include "The American Chronicles," a decade-by-decade account of the 20th century. He has written three books based on the television series "Law and Order."

Vaughan was a career military man with three tours in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and other honors.

The Friends of the Library group is sponsoring his program.

At 7 p.m. Thursday, Dr. and Mrs. Robert Kuster will present a slide presentation on their recent travels through Scandinavia. They traveled for three weeks through Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland.

Dr. Kuster retired from Southeast Missouri State University as head of the biology department and is now an escort for Panorama Tours.

His program is one in a series of Third Thursday Travelogues that will continue at the library through May. The program is free and open to the public, and accommodations for patrons with disabilities will be made upon request.
