Is your child not feeling well, out of sorts, on the mend, or just plain sick?
The Cape Girardeau Public Library has a solution Chicken Soup. A collection of educational entertainment materials for sick children preschool through sixth grade, Chicken Soup contains books, pop-ups, videos, cassettes and special items a child can keep.
To help kick off Chicken Soup, the library will be holding a chicken soup contest. Recipes can be contributed or you can bring your favorite chicken soup to the Hirsch Community Room of the library on Feb. 1 at 11:30 a.m. First, second and third prizes will be awarded for the best soup. Judging will be principals from Cape Girardeau elementary schools.
Soup recipes will be compiled into a small cook book.
To enter the contest, call the reference desk of the library at 334-5279. Entry deadline is Jan. 26.
