Leopold students showed support for their basketball team by going all out for Spirit Week beginning Feb. 12. Students decked out in their most creative costumes which later were judged by the teachers.
On Monday, students from each grade dressed up like the music genre they were assigned. Seniors were country music, juniors were pop, sophomores were hip-hop, and freshmen were rock.
Tuesday was Disney Day, where Cruella de Vil and her dalmatians walked through the halls, and Jack Sparrow ran with his jar of dirt. On Wednesday, kayaks and bicycles were brought and carried throughout the school for Anything but a Backpack Day.
Throwback Thursday brought back memories when students recreated childhood pictures of themselves. And on Friday, students turned up the school spirit by decking out in all blue and white.
The elementary and high school cheer performed dances during the Friday pep rally, and then Coach Gary Poyner introduced the basketball team. After the team played a quick relay game, an announcement was made that the senior class won the spirit stick.
