Students named presidential ambassadors at Southeast
The following local students were selected to be presidential ambassadors at Southeast Missouri State University: Kathryn Vangilder and Erica Kight of Jackson, Michael Painton of Oran, Mo., Samurdhi Jayaweera of Cape Girardeau. The students represent the president of the university in greeting and assisting visitors and serving at university functions.
Local high school seniors interested in civil engineering are eligible for scholarships in the 2006 Bridge Building Competition, sponsored by the Missouri Department of Transportation. Students are provided with materials and asked to design the most efficient bridge. For more information, call (888) ASK-MODOT.
