Clark earns spot on spring dean's list at MUW

Margaret Clark of Cape Girardeau was named to the spring 2004 semester dean's list at Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, Miss.

Tropf earns philosophy doctorate from USM

Shonna L. Tropf, formerly of Bell City, Mo., recently graduated with a doctorate in philosophy in mass communications from the University of Southern Mississippi. Tropf is the daughter of Doug and Kay Tropf of Marble Hill, Mo. She is employed as an assistant professor at East Carolina University.

Crocker to study in Australia this fall

Ashley Crocker of Cape Girardeau was recently selected to participate in a study abroad program at the University of Macquarie in Sydney, Australia, for the fall 2004 semester. Crocker is a student at the University of Missouri-Columbia and a 2001 graduate of Central High School. She is the daughter of Linn and Avon Crocker of Cape Girardeau.

Area students receive scholarships to Mizzou

Gabe Gross of Jackson recently received the Virginia Hultz Booth memorial scholarship and the Missouri Teacher Education Scholarship to the University of Missouri-Columbia. Gross is a 2004 graduate of Jackson High School and the son of Tom and Donna Gross. Elizabeth Nussbaum of Gordonville recently received the Virginia Hultz Booth Memorial Scholarship and the Missouri Teacher Education Scholarship to the University of Missouri-Columbia. Nussbaum is a 2004 graduate of Jackson High School and the daughter of David and Sarah Nussbaum.

KU names Blattner to spring honor roll

Trevor Blattner of Cape Girardeau was named to the spring 2004 honor roll at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan. Blattner is a junior majoring in human biology. He is the son of Charles Blattner and a graduate of Central High School.

Notre Dame grad chosen Sigma Nu man of year

Tim Robert, a graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School and University of Missouri-Rolla, was recently selected as Sigma Nu Man of the Year. Robert served twice as president of Gamma Xi chapter of Sigma Nu and vice president, treasurer and pledge class president.
