The Bank scholarship goes to Jackson student

Christopher D. Lynn, a 2001 graduate of Jackson High School, recently received The Bank scholarship to Southwest Missouri State University. Lynn is a finance major at Southwest's college of business administration. He is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and is the son of Earl Dean Lynn of Jackson and Belinda J. Lynn of Kapolei, Hawaii.

Austin accepts award to Fort Hays State University

Bryan Austin, a 2002 graduate of Jackson High School, has accepted a $500 transfer student award to Fort Hays State University for the 2004-2005 academic year. Austin, son of Mike and Cindy Austin of Cape Girardeau, is majoring in physical education.

Central grad selected for Australian program

Marlene Werne of Cape Girardeau has been selected to participate in an off-campus program at the University of Macquarie in Australia for the 2004 fall semester. Werne is a student at Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and a 2002 graduate of Central High School. She is the daughter of Joe and Pat Werne of Cape Girardeau.

Maryville names local students to dean's list

McCormick earns spot on Quincy dean's list

Deana McCormick was named to the spring 2004 semester dean's list at Quincy University in Quincy, Ill.

P&G scholarship goes to seven local students

Seven local students were selected as this year's Procter & Gamble Fund Scholarship winners. The program awards $2,500 college scholarships to children of P&G employees or retirees. Among the local winners were:

Amber Barkley, daughter of Bill and Reba Barkley of Cape Girardeau and Mason, Ohio. She plans to attend Washington University in St. Louis this fall.

Brandon Bueter, son of Rick and Pam Bueter of Marble Hill, Mo. He plans to attend the University of Missouri-Rolla this fall.

David Kiblinger, son of Mark and Debbie Kiblinger of Cape Girardeau. He plans to attend Truman State University this fall.

Jason Knepp, son of Bill and Rhonda Knepp of Cape Girardeau. He plans to attend St. Louis College of Pharmacy this fall.

Kelly Lichtenegger, daughter of Robert and Cynthia Lichtenegger of Jackson. She plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University this fall.

Meredith Toole of Cape Girardeau and Amanda Gould of Jackson have been named to the spring 2004 semester dean's list at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.

Curtis Sievers has received the Elyzabeth Schell Scholarship to attend the college of agriculture, food and natural resources at University of Missouri-Columbia for the 2004-2005 academic year. He is the son of Lonnie and Marilyn Sievers of Jackson and is majoring in plant science.

McGuire graduates with honors from SIU

Nathan McGuire recently graduated summa cum laude from Southern Illinois University's school of dental medicine in Edwardsville, Ill. McGuire is a 1997 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School and is the son of Jay and Theresa McGuire of Cape Girardeau. He has been accepted into the orthodontics program at the University of Louisville.
