Thiele accepted into Mizzou medical school

Fallan Thiele of Jackson was recently accepted into the Bryant Scholars pre-admission program at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The program allows her to be accepted into the university's medical school as a sophomore. Thiele is the daughter of Edwin and Doris Thiele of Jackson and the granddaughter of Edwin and Evelyn Thiele and Doris McCall of Glenallen, Mo.

Area student gets $2,500 scholarship

Bonan Wang of Cape Girardeau recently received a $2,500 scholarship from Who's Who Among American High School students. Wang is a 2004 graduate of Central High School and currently attends the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla. She is one of 201 students selected for the award.

Students honored at Meadow Heights

Meadow Heights School District students of the month for August and September were:

August -- Julie Hahs, Heather Parker, Kylee Shoemaker, Lacy Welker, Courney Brune and Cole Bollinger.

September -- Heather Thorne, Tyler Sander, Monica Welker, Emily Lindsay, Casey Walka and Rusty Lema.
