Presidential ambassadors named at Southeast
Southeast Missouri State University has named students John Claude Holthaus Taylor, Jared White and Amy Brookover, all of Cape Girardeau, and Brent Lewis of Jackson as presidential ambassadors. Presidential ambassadors are student representatives of the president of the university who assist the president and his staff in greeting visiting guests and dignitaries. Taylor is a 2001 graduate of Central High School. White is a 2000 graduate of North County High School. Brookover is a 2002 graduate of Central High School. Lewis is a 2001 graduate of Jackson High School.
Eaton chosen as junior senator at William Jewell
Andrew Eaton has been elected a junior senator at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. Eaton is the son of John and Carol Eaton of Cape Girardeau and is a junior biology major. The student senate is the governing body for students and works as a liaison betweeen students and faculty and administration at the college.
Jackson student shares skills at state fair
Ian L. Wille of Jackson was among 500 youths selected to demonstrate at the Missouri State Fair as part of the 4-H program. Wille demonstrated the forging of a meat skewer. The demonstrations took place in the 4-H building. They provide an opportunity for 4-H members to share their knowledge and polish their public speaking skills.
