Moreton named youth of the month
Andrew Moreton, a senior at Central High School, has been named the February Exchange Club Youth of the Month.
He is the son of John and Nancy Moreton of Cape Girardeau and is co-president of the Central Student Senate.
He is co-captain of the Tiger swimming and diving team, has participated in Central's cross country team for four years and is a four-year varsity letterman in swimming.
He is a National Merit Commended Scholar and is a member of the National Honor Society, the Beta Club and the Letterman's Club at Central.
He is a member of Young Life and an Eagle Scout in Troop 5. He attends St. Mark Lutheran Church.
Area students named to college dean's lists
Jonathon P. Ressel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Ressel of Kelso, Mo., was named to the dean's list for the fall 2002 semester at Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo.
Lance Trankler of Jackson was recently named to the dean's list at Linn State Technical College in Linn, Mo. Trankler is majoring in industrial electricity. To be named to the dean's list, students must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA and attend full-time.
Craig Ringwald of Cape Girardeau was among 1,619 students at Murray State University in Murray, Ky., to be named to the dean's list for the fall 2002 semester.
Bonnie Essner, daughter of Robert P. and Karla Essner of Kelso, Mo., was named to the fall 2002 semester dean's list at Loyola University in Chicago.
Essner is a psychology major enrolled in Loyola's honor program, and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and PSi CHI.
She is a 2000 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School.
Nathan Essner, son of Robert P. and Karla Essner of Kelso, Mo., was named to the dean's honor list at St. Louis University for the fall 2002 semester.
He is majoring in management information systems and is a 1999 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School.

Oran student earns education scholarship
Anilise Lange of Oran, Mo., recently received a $1,000 award as part of the 2002 Health Education Scholarships sponsored by Tylenol.
Lange is a 2002 graduate of Oran High School and currently attends Truman State University.

Deidre Wiseman, daughter of Velma Wiseman of Cape Girardeau was named to the second quarter honor roll at the Missouri School for the Deaf in Fulton, Mo.
Jacob Harrison of Cape Girardeau and Adam Hahs, Benjamin Ponder and Dustin Schoen, all of Oak Ridge recently were named to the honor roll at Linn State Technical College.
