McCallister receives business education award

Sara L. McCallister, a senior at Southeast Missouri State University, recently received the Outstanding Post-Secondary Business Education Student Award while attending the Association for Career and Technical Education Conference in Las Vegas.

She was nominated by Janey Ludwig, business teacher at Jackson High School. McCallister has served on the Missouri Business Education Association Executive Board as a student representative and is currently serving the states of Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Minnesota as student representative to the North Central Business Education Association Executive Board.

She also serves as secretary of Phi Beta Lambda and holds a seat on the National PBL Retention Committee.

Cape native on dean's list at Lindenwood University

Ross Conner III of Cape Girardeau was recently named to the dean's list for the fall 2002 semester at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.

Area students make honor roll at Shawnee college

Local students were among those recently recognized on the president's and vice president's academic honor roll for the fall 2002 semester at Shawnee Community College at Ullin, Ill.

The president's list recognizes students with 4.0 grade point averages. The vice president's list recognizes students with 3.5 to 3.9 grade point averages.
